Most insurance companies use this to their advantage by stating that the damages incurred during  a low impact accident cannot yield significant injuries. This is not always true because while the car can withstand a low impact collision, the human body cannot. The result of these accidents is often injuries such as whiplash and low back pain for the occupant and an uphill battle with the insurance company to settle the case for a fair amount.
